Born in East Germany, Anne Knegt immigrated to Orillia with her parents in 1957. She grew up in the area and she and her husband George, raised their own family here.
Anne always had a flair for art and pursued her interest at Georgian College in Barrie, where she studied painting techniques with Deirdre Chisholm, Claudia McKnight,Laurie Taylor and Michael Polton.
Over the years, she honed her creative skills at many painting workshops including, most recently, The Haliburton School of the Arts.
Anne's watercolour paintings were exhibited at the Wye Marsh Festival, 1997 to 1999, where she won numerous awards, including People's Choice.
Now painting primarily in acrylics and oils, she exhibits regularly at the Orillia Opera House, Orillia Medical Centre, White Lion's Tea House and the Orillia Museum of Art and History.
Her landscape paintings are filled with movement and colour.
