When I retired from a career of teaching, I started taking lessons in Watercolour painting, which I had always admired, but didn't have the time to indulge in. I took lessons from a few artists in Haliburton, Toronto, and York Region. For awhile I belonged to the Bayview Watercolour Society and the Thornhill Group of Artists. I have been in a few art shows in Thornhill and sold a few paintings.
Since moving to Orillia in 2012, I have joined OFAA and continued to paint, practice and learn. For the last few years I have given Beginner W/C lessons in Stouffville, at the 55+CLUB. I enjoy Plein Air painting in and around Orillia. I am motivated by the beauty and wonder of nature around me and on holiday in Europe. I find European architecture fascinating and challenging. I look forward to continuing to develop my skills and talent. Painting has been very therapeutic for me while dealing with family illness and death.
